IKEA Lamp + Ceiling Fan = …

After many weeks of waiting I finally got the chance to head over to IKEA and get some furniture for my room. We (my Dad and I) picked up a desk, dresser, and a floor lamp (link to floor lamp) to see how those things would fit into my room and maybe go back for more. When I got home I was over excited about the lamp and decided to put it together first. The assembly process took place in the living room and lasted about 10 minutes. When I was finished putting the lamp together I was picking it up from the base and forgot that the ceiling fan was right over my head. About one foot off the ground I hear a loud crashing noise above my head and the lamp shook in my hands. I then bring the lamp back down to the floor to see this….

I think I need some tape....

The powerful ceiling fan had crunched into the paper of the shade on the lamp and turned my sweet IKEA lamp into paper shreds. The lamp still works and looks great in my room as long as I keep the shredded and taped part facing the wall.

I haven’t made a post in a while because of my recent move to Texas has kept me super busy. Between unpacking and finding new things around where I live it has been pretty hectic. If I come across anything interesting on the web I will be sure to post it.

The Apple Tablet is Coming

The thing from Apple that people are the world have been wanting for more than four years now could be a few months away according to AppleInsider. Apple is moving fast to the launch of a tablet like device that will be like a giant iPod touch netbook like device. I would write more about this story but it’s late, I’m tired, and once again I waited to late to start a new post. Oh well, goodnight, and hopefully if the USPS finally gets my package to me, I should have a review and pictures of the Comic-Con 2009 Grifball Spartan Halo 3 Action Figure up tomorrow.

My Thoughts From Comic-Con

I am not one of the great nerds that descended upon comic-con over the week but I was keeping up on the news from the convention. I am not a comic nerd but I enjoy hearing about some of the new video games and movies. On the topic of video games I was very depressed when I heard Halo: Reach would be Bungie studios final game for the XBOX 360. For people who do not know Bungie go to www.bungie.net. People who know me know I am a huge Halo fan and the announcement of Bungie’s final XBOX 360 halo game was quite a shock. This could mean though that Bungie may be coming out with a new game title or could be working on a new game for a next gen Microsoft title. Other Halo news that came from the con was about the Halo Anime series. The only thing I am going to say about that is that I am very disgusted. Other than Halo, no other game really grabbed my attention at the Con this year. On the other hand, numerous movies kept me on the edge of my seat with sneak peeks and trailers. One of the Movies I am most excited about is Tron Legacy. This movie is a sequel to the original 1982 movie Tron. The teaser trailer for this movie looked absolutely amazing. The sights, the sounds, and the action kept me watching and rewatching numerous times. Sadly, since I was not around in 1982, I do not know what was going on at all during the trailer but I hope more trailers to come will clear things up before the movie drops in 2010. Another movie from Comic-Con that kept my interest was District-9. District-9, with its quite successful viral marketing, is about aliens coming to Earth. Once arriving to Earth, humans are forced to look after the aliens until the aliens begin to get out of hand. District-9 will definitely be on my list of movies to see in the coming year. This blog post has not been as good of quality as I wanted it to be but I realized I had not made a new post recently and thought I try to squeeze it in at 12 o’clock at night. As for my personal life goes, I am currently packing up stuff in my house and getting ready to move down to Texas from Indiana. This is a huge move for my family and I. I am going to miss my friends and family here in Indiana greatly but hope to visit back often. Goodnight everyone and expect another blog post tomorrow.

So… I guess I’m going to broaden my internet horizons once more by starting this blogging thing. I will be posting different things that come to my mind that are too long to be posted to my Twitter page but I still feel the need to post the random thought to the internet for complete strangers to view. Please let me know if you find my blog posts interesting (or not interesting) and if you have any suggestions for making my blog post better.
